Functions at QCYC’s Waterfront Restaurant & Bar

Queensland Cruising Yacht Club is located on the water’s edge of Cabbage Tree Creek, in the historic bayside village of Shorncliffe. Overlooking the Marina and out to Moreton Bay, the Club offers a range of versatile function spaces, all enjoying beautiful waterfront views in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

We host a wide variety of events, from family celebrations, birthdays and milestone occasions to weddings, corporate functions and social gatherings. Whether you’re planning an intimate event or a larger celebration, QCYC provides a unique bayside location that is both accessible and memorable for guests of all ages.

Function Spaces

Marina Deck

The Marina Deck is an exclusive private waterfront space with uninterrupted marina and bay views. With direct access to the bar and a blend of cocktail-style and table seating it is perfect for stylish celebrations and corporate events, delivering a vibrant atmosphere in a premier waterside setting.

Minimum 30 guests up to 40 guests

Commodore’s Room

Located upstairs with elevated marina views, the Commodores Room is a private rooftop‑style event space ideal for intimate gatherings. Featuring a boutique bar and balcony overlooking the water, this refined room can be air‑conditioned for comfort and is accessed via stairs.

Minimum 30 guests up to 40 guests

Member’s Room

The Member’s Room offers an ideal setting for indoor celebrations, meetings and social gatherings within a log fireplace perfect for Winter, and character‑filled memorabilia showcasing the Club’s rich history. Located downstairs, it opens onto a covered patio and can be combined with the Marquee for larger functions.

Minimum 30 guests up to 60 guests

Marquee

A spacious 12m x 6m covered marquee located right on the water’s edge. Offering a flexible layout, this space is ideal for celebrations, cocktail functions and corporate events, accommodating up to 70 guests cocktail‑style or 50 guests seated.

Minimum 40 guests up to 70 guests

Marquee & Picnic Lawn

A spacious covered marquee combined with a manicured picnic lawn, located right on the water’s edge. Offering both sheltered and open‑air spaces, this versatile area is ideal for larger celebrations, cocktail functions and social events.

Minimum 80 guests up to 120 guests

Rigging Lawn

The Rigging Lawn is a versatile outdoor space available to hire when booked alongside another function area. Ideal for wedding ceremonies, family picnic events and relaxed sunset gatherings, this lush lawn setting offers a picturesque backdrop for informal celebrations, breakout spaces or pre‑event experiences by the water’s edge

80th Birthday Party

I just wanted to say thank you for all of your help in working with us to organise Dad’s 80th  Birthday Party. Guests have since commented on how great the venue was & the food and everyone has said what a great afternoon they had. Everything went smoothly, all of the staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with so a big thank you to them also. I think a number of guests have now found a venue they’d like to return to. 70th Birthday Party

I actually have been meaning to email you all week to say thank you to you and the rest of the team. Everyone absolutely loved the event. They loved the venue and the food. The setting by the water is spectacular. Everyone was blown away. Staff Christmas Party

We celebrated our staff Christmas Party this evening at the Qld Cruising Yacht Club, and it was nothing short of sensational. The service was excellent, the food awesome and the ambience so beautiful as we ate overlooking the water. Only wished we had used this venue for previous celebrations 🥳.

Company Christmas Party

Thank you to all the team at QCYC for a very enjoyable day. 21st Birthday Party

Just wanted to say that we had an awesome night there. It really couldn’t have been easier or more relaxed. The food was fantastic, and we had loads of people commenting on how good their meal was. School Graduation Event

“The Shorncliffe State School grade 6 graduation, held at QCYC last night was fabulous. The venue right by the water under a marquee was perfect and beautifully decorated. The service was great, and the kitchen and bar staff worked so hard to make sure we were all looked after. Also, the calamari was the best I’ve ever had!” – December 2020

Work Christmas Party

Just wanted to thank you and say how great our Xmas party function was last Friday. Everything was perfect, the venue, the food, the service.
The kids we had there had a great time running around on the grass and I have had only good feedback from all my colleagues, a great night was had by all.
