The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club Winter Series is a series of nine races with racing divisions for Monohulls and Multihulls plus a SAGS category. For the racing divisions, the races are a mixture of short course and passage races whilst the SAGS category is made up entirely of passage races.
The series runs during the months on June and July and includes a travellers mini series, a teambased challenge and a series long club event.
The Otter Rock Plate is for teams of two boats who compete for the Monohull and Multihull Plate over the course of the races held on the Otter Rock Weekend.
The Winter Bell challenge is a series long trophy competed for by the Sandgate Yacht Club and QCYC.
The Travellers mini series is designed to encourage visiting competitors and is spread over three weekends at the end of the series.
The racing fleet in normally split into two monohull divisions and one multihull division whilst the SAGS category combines all entrants, irrespective on the number of hulls in one group.
