About the Club
The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club is located on Cabbage Tree Creek (27o 20’ South and 153o 05’ East), in the historical Brisbane bayside village of Shorncliffe. With facilities including fuel, shopping and transport close at hand, the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club has always been a popular destination for cruising and racing yachtsmen. The Clubhouse is set in a parkland like environment with views across Cabbage Tree Creek to Brisbane’s largest wetland environment reserve, the Boondall Wetlands and out to Moreton Bay. A short walk to the mouth of Cabbage Tree Creek, will afford spectacular views across beautiful Moreton Bay to Moreton Island.

With easy access in and out of a well marked channel, QCYC is a perfect place to begin your explorations of Moreton Bay. The Marina Complex is home to our racing, cruising and power boat fleets. Berths are available for overnight, weekly or long term rental through the Club Administration Office. Berths are held on long term leases and are occasionally resold by the holders. Members who are not berth holders are entitled to moor on the finger directly in front of the Clubhouse free of charge for one night prior to and one night after a race or cruise. The Club also has a number of pile moorings suitable for multihulls and shoal draft vessels.

A large hardstand area provides for Members requiring storage of their vessel either on a short or long term basis, with easy access to the Club boat ramp. The boat ramp is capable of handling boats of a gross weight up to eight tonnes. Dinghy storage racks are available if required.

The relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the Club lends itself to great social activities. QCYC Members and their guests are encouraged to use all facilities the Club has to offer.

Our Club Bar and Slipways Restaurant is open Wednesday and Friday through Sunday. All events both on and off the water are advertised in the Club newsletter, the ‘Cruisin News’, and on our website .

The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club conducts each year the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, Surf to City Yacht Race and other events including the Vintage Yacht Regatta in June.
